Damn good food, Wheat sprouts

Now this is a freaking amazing food. It contains so many good things that its unbelivable

the macro content is

27,5% protein
32% carbs
9,4% fat
14% fibers

100g wheat sprouts contains:

290mg magnesium(80% of RDI)
11mg vitamin E(100% of RDI)
18mg Zink(120% RDI)
8mg iron(60% of RDI)
1000mg phosphor(120% RDI)
18mg manganese(900!!!% of RDI)
1.1mg copper((90% RDI)
30mcg molbydenum(120% of RDI)
140mcg fluorine

its also a very good source of antioxidants

I cant find any GI info on wheat sprouts no matter how hard I try but given the fat, protein and fiber content of it I would say that the gi must be pretty low. In other words the combination of fat and carbs in it wont matter all that much. A easy food that tastes good and gives you LOADS of nutrients easily. Mix it with your oatmeal at breakfast or heck mix it down into your rice before eating.

lol it acctualy does taste good. I mix it with some flax seeds and chug down.
Maby I like odd flavors ;)

alfalfa sprouts tastes like shit but I can eat bags of wheat sprouts :dance:

I buy it at a supplement/health store but my general food store carries it aswell. Very cheap. It should be around the dried beans and other health food related stuff.

there is loads of different sprouts, Wheat and alfalfa is the most nutritious as far as I know. But mung bean sprouts are good to. Almost all beans can be sprouted and alot of other things aswell.

Good soruce for chlorophyl(sp?) aswell it has a detoxin effect on the body.

sprouts is the most nutritious "lifestage" of a plant, that is why healtnuts rave about them. When they grow more the nutrients get more diluted sort of and when they are seeds the nutrients hasnt formed yet. So sprouts are the best oppertunity to get all the benifits of some greens.

..Same here..If I can find some wheat sprouts, I'll definitely give them a test drive.....

Vegitarians and vegan health shops have all kinds of foods like this aswell. Its called "live foods" or something along those lines. All those foods are very good for joint health especialy for those with arthritis.

there is alot we could learn from vegans and vegitarians. Now I dont mean we should become vegitarians :lol: but the ones more knowlegable(not the avarage nutcase vegitarian they are just brainwashed) about it is very good at combining foods to increase biological value of protein for instance and they usualy know a few health tricks.

There are plenty of very odd but aviable foods that could benifit us.
