    Maximum protein per serving

    Here's one question I am asked a lot so let me get some feedback from you guys and gals. What is the maximum amount of protein an average man & woman can assimilate per serving. What have you learned.

    From what I've read and experienced it varies. Some people say no more than 30-35g per meal, others say up to 70-75g. It may depend on how active, how large, how much muscle he/she carries, what (if any) drugs they're taking. I like to think it falls someplace in the middle...around 50-55g per sitting/meal. Just my .02.

    I made a post on this b4 .... Very hard to determine what everyones body will assimulate . There are so many factors involved . Just a clogged colon and intestinal track can reak havoc on assimulation ... Colonic anyone ? Ouch ! But I would Guess no more than 40 grams per sitting ... and with a decent interval between feedings .

    Good personal imput, but what about lab studies? Anyone read anything?

    Popular question. If you do a search, you will find a fairly lengthy thread from about a month or so ago where we debated this quite a bit.

    As Ive always said b4, the main thing people dont think about when asking this question is whether or not the protein is being consumed alone or with other macro nutrients. IF alone, I would agree with most studies that suggest between 30-60g (depending on your stats, and metabolism, etc). But when consumed with other macronutrients, MUCH more protein can be consumed and absorbed. That is the big key. Generally speaking, if I am having a protein only meal, I rarely exceed about 45g.

    Improving is right there was a good discussion on the amount of protein I personally would,nt go over 70g.If I consume that amount of protein it will be made up from several types and will also have roughly the same amount of carbs to help the breakdown of that amount.

    Studies vary so much some say 40g some say 80g.I think it is determined on experience with a high protein diet,training and you,re own personal needs.JMO

    Your pancreas produces glucagon to utilize protein efficiently, so is it like it's sister insulin that when there is too much in the blood stream at one time does it convert some to fat?

    I,m pretty sure it does convert to fat either that or if you,re body does not consume it is literally waste
