    i hate brown rice so all i eat is white rice. but if you can stand brown rice eat that.

    From what I understand as long as you don't eat it alone, say add something with protein or fats. Then it should be broken down about the same as brown rice. Any input from a licensed dietitian?

    I would never include any significant amount of fats w/white rice, no, because of the high gi value. However, including protein is fine, and just as long as the amount of rice included is the proper amount for you to grow and not too much to be stored as fat (eating in excess) then you really have nothing to worry about.

    brown rice for me all the way - its lower on the GI index than white rice

    I heard brown is the best for you so I try to eat thta 90% of the time, but on cheat days I'll use jasmine rice (best flavor and texture out there and it cooks fast)

    theres not many food that i dont like but brown rice is one of em.i freakin gag when i eat it.so im all about the white,i usually eat it with some brocollii and chicken

    i dont understand what is so bad about brown rice - just put a bit of salso on it along with your chicken - some lettuce, and some broccoli and mix it all in

    Put the brown rice in a hot frying pan while your water is coming to a boil. Toast the brown rice. (this can be done in the broiler but i always forget and but it)when the kernals of the rice of toasted pour slowly into boiling water. it cuts the cook time in 1/2 and makes for a nice fluffy rice with a nutty flavor.

    Brown Basmati rice is the bomb. More flavor, better aroma, but it costs a little more.
