How much to eat of OFF days

I am out of the gym on Saturday and Sunday. During the week I stuff myself. I cheat a little bit on Saturday usually with a little more sugar and fat in my meals. Do I still need to be eating the same amount of calories (protein/carbs) as my on days? Should I still use bars and shakes as well? Or should I reserve those for pre/post workout and before bed? I just wanna make sure my nutrition stays good 24/SEVEN and not 24/5. Thanks.

i always make my carbs lower on non lifting days
and my protein levels a bit too - usually around 400 - 500kcls less on non lift days

i wouldnt eat protein bars at all by the way they are full of crap to get them to stick together - sugars, sat/trans fats, preservitives, colouring etc

Well I have no other choice with the bars right now. I go to school and am gone for about 5 hours. I have been thinking about getting a small cooler so I can pack a couple meals to take with me but I am pretty broke right now.

theres alot of stuff that you can carry with you instead of a protein bar. It just depends on how picky you are

i wouldnt bother with whey before bed
you digest it within an hour

or are you talking about casein protein shake? that would be better

Or you can get a shaker and mix up shakes... bring peanuts or bread to go along with it, water bottle to wash it down... Cans of tuna are pretty portable, just bring a can opener and go open that bitch in the bathroom in between classes or whatnot.

I think I'm gonna get a shaker and those pouches of tuna. I can chow down a pouch in like 5 minutes. I already use cottage cheese in many of my meals, I think I would get to tired of it if I ate a more before bed too.
BTW thanks for diggin up that link on the DIY protein bars, I'll have to try that sometime.
