Raw food vs Cooked food Calculation

I was under the assumption that 4oz of cooked chicken breast has approx 22-25g of protein in it.

Does this mean if I measure the chicken breast in raw form, that the amount of protein will be the same as in cooked form?

Thats what I initially thought until I was told otherwise so ive been eating about 8-10oz of cooked chicken breast in order to get 50g of protein but man, it just seems like i am eating alot - maybe too much.

Thats why I wanted to see if I should measure 22-25g of protein using approx 4oz os "raw" chicken breast instead of cooked.

4oz raw is about 2.66oz (2 and 2/3oz) cooked. if you want 50 g protein either measure 8oz raw, then cook it. or measure 6.32oz (about 6 and 1/3oz) cooked. it will vary a little every time, but its about 50g

No it just loses weight. So 4oz raw will actually be less chicken the 4oz cooked.

I said to myself "damn man this seems like a hell of alot of chicken to be eating to get 50g of protein".

Now I know why. I was measuring 8oz cooked!
