    Macro's Post Workout

I workout in the evening and had a question regarding macro's following my post workout shake. My meals leading up to and directly following my workout look like this:

    5:00 p.m. - 1-1/2 cup oatmeal (55g), 2 scoops whey (46g)
    6:00 - 7:30 - workout
    7:45 - dextrose/maltodextrin (90g), 2 scoops whey (46g)
    8:30 - meal
    10:00 - 2 scoops whey (46g), hand full of almonds (10g)
    10:30 - Bed

I was wondering what my macro's should be for the 8:30 meal. Should it be a pro/carb or a pro/fat meal?

I see nothing but shakes. What happened to all the real food? Veggies? Lean meats? only 4 meals all together....where are the rest?

The shakes are just leading up to and following the workout. I didn't list the rest of the day because my question was more or less focused towards the meal directly following my post workout shake.

Definately a protein/carb meal in the 2 hour post-workout window.

Do you guys think the insulin spike from the pro/carb meal will be to close to the pro/fat meal right before bed?

Simple answer, workout later and have your PPWO as your last meal of the day. This should not be hard considering it seems you have nothing to do after 6pm.

Ok I'm not trying to be a dickhead here at all, but how to do interperet make your PPWO meal the last of the day (always a solid Pro/carb meal) into "Should I do Pro/fat"?

sorry to hijack but...I understand having a pro/carb for ppwo is not harmful in any way right before bed. You guys saying he should not have a pro/fat meal right before bed..is this because he is having it too soon? I guess my question is when does the insulin spike drop back down to normal so having a pro/fat meal would not be detrimental in any way? Im thinking about working out earlier in the day..this is why. I figured if i kept the pro/fat 2 hours+ after my ppwo I would be fine..any thoughts?

Blood Sugar from your PPWO meal should return to normal in about 2 to 2.5 hours.
