    Help with Dextrose

    Ok my buddy has seen be gobble some Sweet Tarts after my workouts and asked me wtf I eat those for. I explain I need it for Dextrose. When he asked what that does and the importance... I didn't want to tell him... uhh because some people on this forum tell me I should :P

    So for my own knowledge and for people I want to educate, what exactly does Dex do (spike insulin levels to help protien get to muscle faster? is that it?)

    Also, how important is the 2:1 dex/pro ration for the PWO. I mean, could I get away with a 1.5/1 ratio?

    no it doesnt...well it does spike insulin but protein synthesis is the same wether u have dex or oats

    the 2:1 rule is to create a bigger slin spike since protein slows it down...but i see this being useless really...so just add more carbs around pwo , ppwo and pre-WO..but u dont have to follow the 2:1 rule

    i agree...
    the only good thing bout dex is cause its powder form thats one less meal you have to eat as a solid for carb source....
    but yes i agree with what iron said

    yup!

    but u can make it a shake....put the oats alone in the blender...till theyre a very fine powder...then add the whey+ milk or water....some splenda....and ur good to go
