    So..about Thanksgiving...

Since Thanksgiving is coming up, I assume everyone goes all out for a cheat meal/day at least here. I myself dont have any desire to do so, but I would feel really bad for my grandma if I didn't eat any of her food. Plus..my fam would bitch at me and say, "Your grandma cooked this food all day, you need to eat like you used to, because a lot of this is for you." (type stuff) So the question is..does anyone actually follow their diet plan for Thanksgiving day??

I try to stick to diets thru the holidays, but usually I end up on an all liquid diet.

I make it my cheat meal but try to keep the rest of the day in check.

Eat your grandma's food bro. She'll appreciate it, and its only one day out of the year.

well, my grandma cooks a feast so i eat as much as i can and she usually sends some back home with me. same goes for christmas. there's no way i'm passing up such delicious meals, especially when they only come around once a year...JMO. i stay pretty well in tact with my diet all year tho. i just eat more when i'm bulking. which is winter time which is now which includes thanksgiving and Christmas.

Don't look at Thanksgiving as a "cheat day". I consider it an "opportunity to grow". One day is not going to alter your body composition. Besides, turkey breast is lean and God gave us r-ALA for stuffing!

To be honest i havent decided whether or not i'm gonna cheat on turkey day. I have a new years goal that i must make. Besides Christmas time/food is so much better than thanksgiving IMO. Screw thanksgiving ( well maybe cuz i havent decided yet)

I may have to have some turkey, sweet potatoes, baked potatoes etc. I think my main goal is to not combine too much carbs and fat that day..

live it up bro. i eat 56+ meals a week. i dont feel one damn bit bad if i cheat on 3 or 4 of those. it hasnt hurt my progress yet. im bulking right now so i have a little bit more room for error so im going all out for a meal on thursday and friday. gotta have some left overs man. besides how many holidays are there actually that there is an abundance of food? maybe 3 or 4 a year. that aint shit.

I plan to mimimize my intake but to combat it all i am going to add an extra day of cardio that morning.

At least it will make me feel better about it all.

Depending on your goals...Bulking/cutting etc...A typical thanksgiving meal is not what I would consider a extreme form of "cheating", Most peoples cheat days are MUCH worse than that. Case in point, most AR threads indicate Taco Bell as the favorite cheat food...Carbs and fat together at it's worst.

Granted you're omiting the deserts and sweet stuff of course...Looking at the actual food itself it's not that bad.

    -shaokahn-

Re-feed or high carb day? I'd rather call it that.

I guess I can call it a high carb day, you're right. I began to think of it lately, and theres really nothing that bad. I cant think of anything combining carbs/fat...but I probably will have at least a slice of pumpkin pie
