A good friend of mine is a gorgeous Fitness competitor- lean as you can get- and she swears by her fat diet. I've watched her have meals of whole cream, or omelettes made of egg yellows, or polish bacon, or flavored animal fat, with butter and vegetables.
Fats and cholesterol block and harden the arteries, as well as add strain on the kidneys.-right?
She is strong, happy, and totally defined year-round.
Does this diet have validity? How does this diet work? Where did it come from?
those diets tend to mask the problem, giving you an external appearence that is desirable, but internal chaos. She should indeed get her cholesterol checked, in fact, get full blood work done, and see if she is as healthy as she looks.Quote:

I thought there was a breaking point to the ketogenic diet...
it can level out, but judging from how my mother did the atkins, it takes awhile. Ketogenic diets really shed the pounds, i think more so then any diet i have seen. Problem is, its not to desirable for bb, as it can strip muscle as well.Quote:

And no this diet is used to make the body convert fats to glucose because of the lack of ingested carbohydrates. Terrible for a powerlifter and terrible for just about anyone else who is not a Diabetic or Epileptic.
Does this diet affect muscle repair? What about Headaches, and muscle-cramping ? Does it affect motor nerves?
Who would think this up and why? Are there any benefits?
the original reasoning was that if you eat only fat and protein you will force your body into only burning fat. They though this would mean improved fat loss over traditional diets.Quote:

If she wants to do this diet and stay healthy she needs to make sure she gets enough fibers(tell her to supplement with both whole psyllium seeds and whole flax seeds), she needs to supplement with alot of vitamins since here diet is obviously lacking in veggies and fruits. Also tell her to get the bulk of the fat from mono unsaturated fats like olive oil and avacado.
i got a buddy that does the same thing but he also eats a bag of brocclie a day
as long as the fat doesnt get to outa control i find thy are very effective for cuttting and lean bulking.
Beef is only half saturated and half monounsaturated actually.
Egg yolks have alot of cholesterol bt you only absorb 2 percent of it.
2%? How much fat and cholesterol can be absorbed from other foods? Does it change if the food's cooked or not? What about her meal of whole cream?
