from what ive heard there is something in them when raw that doesnt allow the body to utilize all the protein. and i hope when you say raw that you are using some sort of pasteurized egg white product. if you just using raw eggs from the store that you seperate from the yolk then thats not good. ever hear of salmonella?
The amino acid chain structure is not as bio-available when raw. It's best to cook them.
if they are pasteurized then that means they have been slightly cooked to remove avidin in them and then they are good to drink...normally if you buy a carton of egg whites they should be pasteurized.
how do i know if they are pasteurized? i separate the egg white from the yolk and put the egg whites in the blender with milk and whey protein and drink that
it seems to have worked well cause i've seen pretty good gains taking them while i don't have protein powders
but that salmonela thing scares me
if you are separating them from yolk then they are not pasteurized...you gotta buy those cartons of egg whites not whole eggs and they should usually say they are pasteurized.Quote:

pasteurized = alrighty to drink, mostly everything is absorbed
not pasteurized = Chance to catch Salmonella, only part of the protein is absorbed if any.
When its cooked, its vice versa.
Cook them! More bio-availability.
If you have a pro powder already, why one would add a few raw whites into that makes no sense to me.
