    Postwork out Shake

Just Curious. How many people here take their post workout shake with the to the gym and drink there at the gym after their workout. I usually drive home after my workout and make my shake at home. I only live 5-10 mins away from the gym. Would it be a better idea to start taking my shake with me to the gym?
    thanks

I put mine in a shaker, and take it with me to the gym. I leave it in the car now, cause it is like 10 degrees outside, so it stays nice and cold.

There is a small amount of saturated fat in oats...is it insignificant?

If you took in 60 carbs worth of oats that would be 1g sat fat...for me at least...

I also have some sat fat in my whey...I know its gay...

Would a banana or two be just as good?

    Sorry if this is hijacking...

I usually use a banana and either juice or a bagel. I used to use milk but I cant keep it cold at the gym, but I think I might buy a cooler and use that.

i either do whey/dex or whey/oats. i live 15-20 mins from the gym depending on traffic but i bring my shake with me cuz im that obsessive about the extra 5 mins.

BTW, NewKid, I dont think you should worry about the sat fat in oats. You need some sat fat in your diet. However, that question makes me think about the total fat PWO. If you are having 100g carbs via oats w/50g of whey (I'll say 2g of fat for the whey) thats a total of around 14g fat for PWO. That's a lot of fat...no? Even in my case, with just 50g oats PWO and 25g whey, it is 7g fat. Would this break the p/f p/c rule?

Bump, yea but there is still fat, and I am anal about shit like that. I don't think a little fat will hurt, but 7 grams and up would make me concerned.

yeah i never really thought about it until i read this thread. i mean a usual serving of oats only has 3g which is no big deal. but when you need that many carbs PWO it adds up. Maybe ill start doing half dex half oats

The fat in the oats is not a big deal at all. You are not spikin your insulin so I don't see where the problem would be.
