You can, or not, depends on how much you use and how much whey you are using. When I use dextrose I just use 80g along with 40g of whey.
2:1 ratio...carbs are doubled to protein
so, you need double the amount of carbs?
i really dont see why people say you need to double the amount of carbs to protein in your pwo shake...yes it is good to consume 100 grams of carbs and 50 grams of protein pwo but i highly doubt it would make a difference if i used 90 grams of carbs and 50 grams of protein.Quote:

Mr. Swole, I think he is referring to the "plethora" of information regarding maltodextrin and dextrose combined in PWO being better than just dextrose alone.
There is a mongoloid write-up on dextrose, maltodextrin and "window of opportunity" somewhere out there, and it indicates that due to the GI as well as the osmolarity of both malto and dext., it is advantageous to use both
are we splitting hairs? Yeah probably, but never stand in the way of the anally retentive and their desire for perfection. :P
FWIW, I use 3/8 cup of dextrose and 3/8 maltodextrin in my PWO along with 2 scoops of fruit punch isopure.
thoroughly kickass. tastes like a fruit punch powerade.

I started to use this mix for my post training shake and found my recovery improved and the next days training was better.
700ml Water
45g Natural Whey
40g Glucose
50g Maltodextrin
5g Glutamine
5g Creatine
3000g BCAA
I take this within 5 minutes of finishing my workout. When bulking I will take it again 1 hour later, then resume normal eating 2 hours after that.
