Thread: carb up days????

carb up days????
i am basically 4-5 weeks in at my cuttting phase. i am limiting carbs to 100 grams from only oatmeal. I am suddenly dropping strength. would carbing up help out and not effect fat loss if i did it like once a week or so.
if i should do a carbup day, how much carbs should i take in and from what sources. rice and pasta or extra oatmeal?

come on guys, i know somebody knows. i typed in carbup days in the search and surprizingly only got 5 results excluding mine. none of htem helped

Yes - I believe you should carb up. 100 Grams - even on a cutting diet is too low. You should be taking in more than that daily. (Unless you're on a 1,200 calorie a day diet)
Don't forget some green veggies - good complex carbs.

Carb up day would be good for sure. Whats your BF% right now, how much weight have you lost?

firstly, i had just one off day. other than that, as far as strength goes, i am hovering fairly close to my old weights, figureing that i am off by an average of 2 reps which isnt to bad. getting 2 reps back when i am dont cutting would be a very rapid thing i would believe.
I am on week 5 now. i havnt stepped on the scale since week 3. at week 3, i had lost 17 pounds. I dont know my bodyfat. but i can tell you their is a noticable difference.
1. pants that i was "squeezing" into, are now falling off me without a belt. pants that i could not fit into i can now.
2. my skin is kind of like jay cutlers, i will never be veiny and striated, but rather grainy and full like yates i hope. the veins that i do have are becoming more visible wrapping around my forearms ever so slightly. i have very very very faint vein (s) prodruding out of the peak of my bicept, no where near the firehose running down the arm, i dont think i would even have that at 7 percent bodyfat truthfully.
3. I am starting to see slight quad seperation
4. I am finally seing a hint that maybe i do have the EXTREME most faintest view of blurry abbs. (lower)
5. Their is a sharp line and hardness where my lower lats meet my torso, lower lats are sticking out nicely if htat makes sense
also been doing cardio twice a day except today lol. my body is rediculously stubborn at losing fat. i must keep carbs at 100 and do cardio twice a day
my strength is hangin in their for them most part.

my protein is also at 2 grams per pound like it always is

yes well thats why its a sticky bruh, that dosnt mean you have to follow it to a T when im cutting i hitt around the 150 range, in my carbs

If it helps any, i believe myself to be mid to high 13%'s to real low 14% bodyfat
I believe i can be 11-12 in 3-4 weeks. hopefully 2-3. 5 weeks ago i was probably 18-20 percent. so if i can get to 11. that would be a 6-9 percent drop in 5-9 weeks. hmm, maybe i am not as endo as i though i was? All i know is my muscles are de****g with this low carb shit ok. i am still hanging near my old weights.(lifting weights wise)Last edited by IronReload04; 01-09-2006 at 10:39 PM.

also, guys, still not sure about the ballpark amount of carbs i should eat on my carbup day and from what sources these carbs should come from. extra oatmeal or use rice and pasta and the upper GI class.

Carbs should come from any where. Keep fat low and make sure to get some protein in. You should consume anywhere from 4,000-5,000 cals on this carb up day depending on your size. This should fill you out nicely and will help you lose wight in the long run.
