Rice.. who eats it here?

so one entire cup of rice = just under 300 calories (btw 1 cup of uncooked rice = 3 cups of cooked rice)

did i get this wrong? because that'a pretty huge proportion for that little of calorie intake.. if that's the case, it's rice and chicken for the next 2 months baby :D

Yeah one cup of cooked rice is not too much.

I eat brown rice......not white

brown has much more fiber than the white...


but i eat white anyway:rolleyes:

if you want a carb source that doesnt have high carb density go with potatoes :D

I eat brown rice non stop. Its a staple in my diets. However the sticky white rice from the chinese place is BANGING!!! Do people use the sticky rice for there regimen???

yams are a staple in y diet as well and its a little tasty too. LOVE YAMS

sweet potatoes are not potatoes, nor legumes, but in fact are in the morning glory family...sorry

well 100grams of rice has roughly 70-75grams of carbs while 100grams of white potatoes has roughly 20-25 or so grams of carbs. I never eat sweet potatoes(to damn expensive here) so I wouldnt know about them.

Rice has over 3 times as high carb density as potatoes. Potatoes fill me up alot more than rice does because of that. Potatoes has higher gi though. But letting potatoes cool and then reheating them makes the gi incredibly low.

i cant stomach sweet potatoes...tried them last week for the 1st....just didnt like them they nearly made me spewup swallowing them

agreed..I never eat rice.........plain and simple..........sweet potatoes, yams, whole wheat and oats are my staples..........if you think SP taste bad, you are failing to prepare them correctly......

dont get me wrong. I eat buttloads of brown rice aswell :) But I love potatoes. When cutting I hardly eat either and when bulking I can eat alot more potatoes without getting lots of carbs in me though.

i mix Brown and Jazmine rice, its a glorrrrrrrious combination

How about FRUIT?

1 cup brown rice with veggies lunch and dinner gets the job done.
