How do you eat your tuna?

I eat it straight out of the can, which I no longer will be doing.
It's just getting worse and worse everytime I eat it.

What are some ways you guys eat your tuna that tastes good, I've heard people using hot sauce, but I can't stand hot food.

    What do you guys do?

I usually plug my nose while she...oh wrong type...sorry. Not sure what kind of tuna you eat by I like the Albacore in the new no liquid packs. A bit more expensive but very nice to use and tastes good. Albacore is the way to go though.

You can always try mustard with a little bit of lemon juice. I also like relish sometimes.

mustard is good, salsa is good too, but most of the time i usually got with take a bite and wash it down w/ lots of water, also you can make tuna burger with it:

per can of tuna ( i usually do 4-5 cans makes enought for 4 meals)
    1 egg beaten
Spice to taste mrs. dash, pepper whatever you like
about 1/3 cup of oatmeal if you want
1 TSP of pancake mix(holds things together a bit, but works without it too)

Then form them into pattie's and bake at 350 for about 20 min. Not bad and you get bit extra protien from eggs, if they are not forming good patties add bit more egg.

Theron...you've been asking a lot of questions about training, diet and gear but never tell us about your own programs. Why don't you tell us a little about your training and daily diet. You did say that you had 20" arms so I'm interested in seeing how you did that with the admittedly limited amount of bodybuilding knowledge you posses.

I mix a can with a spoonful of relish, and a spoon of mayo. Throw in a little flax seed oil for good measure, salt and pepper, and eat as is. Hell, put it between a couple of slices of bread to mix things up

Some good idea's, I think I'll try the mustard first and if it's still bad, i'll try something else.

And someone mentioned using albacore tuna, I already do.
I just can't stand the taste.

why are so many people afraid of mayo....1 tablespoon of reduced fat mayo has 5 grams of fat and it is enough to take away the fishy tasteof one whole can of tuna....just mix the mayo god and i put it on some rommaine lettuce and its good .

put a can of tuna in a mixing bowl, add 1 egg white, and a quarter of a cup of dry, uncooked oatmeal. mix it all up real good, make a patti out of it, and cook it in a skillet! add cheese if you like. its a tuna burger, and damn tasty!

That sounds like a good idea, how long do you cook it for?

I tried it with Mustard, and BOO-YOW!
    It was good, thank god.
For a second there I thought I would have to get rid of tuna for good.

just to check guys: how much carbs would there be in those yummy sounding patties? I am just tryna keep a check on ALL carb sources to balance it out for the day. Also, anytihng else that could be added besides oatmeal, which is maybe lower in carbs?

I use less than a tablespoon of Mayo, little mustard and always relish. Yum yum!

I'm willing to try just about anything bigkev says, so I'm trying the tuna burger concoction next.

If you eat anything the same way all the time, you're bound to get tired of it. Mix it up!

xenithon, on carb content depends on how much oatmeal you add, i usually go with about 1/3 of cup which is around 20g total.

I just drain the water out of the can then put it in a bowl and break it apart and eat it like that. I'm not a big fan of mayo or other sauces and to me its not so bad by itself

eye_candy : is the oats used as a bonding agent, and if so are there lower carb alternatives? If not, can the oats be left out and things like egg white and grated carrots be used instead?

btw - is that 1/3 cup per tin of tuna?

    thanks

1/3 per 4 cans. They work without the oats yes, and yes i do use them to hold things together. May need few more eggs to keep things together or egg whites, depending on what you require.

Instead of using oats, what about bread crumbs?

    Would the carbs be lower?

This same topic has been posted before if memory serves me. Actually I have gotten some pretty good ideas form post such as these. The one with tuna mixed with Bar-B- Que comes to mind. Pretty good stuff. Pickle relaish is ok and I really like tuna mixed with mustard.

Eat it raw tossed with seaweed or cooked 1-2" thick steaks. I love tuna.

but tuna in a can is such a waste of raw fish....

    hehehehe

Save the calories and use fat free yogurt instead of mayo in the tuna. Gives it a better flavor, IMHO, and less grease.

I eat my albacore tuna with green onion and celery chopped, with fat free mayo. I used to eat it plain out of the can, but that was a type of torture. I like this way much better.

Hi, this is my first post, but a little BBQ sauce actually makes it taste pretty good. I have also made a sort of tuna burrito with the tuna and BBQ sauce mix. Can be kinda dry though.

Live on the edge. I add cellery and you can add all sorts of chopped up veggies. I add a tablespoon or so of mayo. You can make your own mao from eggs and oil and it will be even better.
