My fella is a true believer in the Anabolic Burst Cycle Diet, but I don't agree. I'm a true believer in the CKD diet, but he doesn't agree. What are your opinions on the ABCD Diet? If it is effective, how so?

Tried it but couldn't drop the fat I put on. I don't even diet anymore, if I need to drop fat I will hit the treadmill now. I will never go under 3k cals again. Of course I don't compete so there is really no need for me to diet hardcore.
No need to get too detailed, but what is the gist of the ABCD Diet? Is that the one where you go hypocaloric for a few days followed by 2 days of hyper?

Damn it was a while back I think it was like 2 or three weeks of stuffing yourself and then 2-3 weeks of basically fasting (VERY low cals.) Not my cup of tea
Yes, it's a modified yo-yo diet.

As stated many times . These FAD diets create more problems that not.... Its all about learning your own bodies HOT points .... Take a standard proven method of dieting and MODIFY it to your own fitness and lifestyle .... Good luck ...
BOOM! Enough said! Thanks fellas. ;)

Yo Yo diets are dangerous.I personally don,t think there is any need to diet like that.Slowly reduce cals until the desired results begin to show.Stuffing your face than starving yourself can actually prevent b,f from being lost because the body breaks the muscle down to store as energy.Bad Idea!!
MarkyMark-EXACTLY... You simply HAVE to adjust sound nutrition to YOUR lifestyle!
Nothing sound about ABCD in my opinion, just a bunch of bologna. (no pun intended) :D

Well not one to disagree........but it works very well IMO but has to be applied rigidly, lost fat and gained muscle.
Ms Fit,
I tried the alphabet soup diet for 8 weeks (2 cycles) and managed to gain a couple lbs of fat. Didn't work for me at all, and I'm very regimented in counting calories and macronutrients.
WRT keto diets, personally I don't beleive in them. It's just another fad diet as opposed to a lifestyle. I find it much easier to keep protein intake constant and adjust carbs and fat for cutting or bulking cycles.
Later
I use the Keto approach as well and receive great results. I'm off right now and have slipped. Keto seems to help me keep focus. I'm working on getting back on track today.
My fella tries all kinds of different diets. Personally I don't think he give the chosen diet a chance to prove itself. You can't justify results in two weeks and then jump on a different plan.
