How high you guys think corn is on the glycemic index
I can't get a reading I know it's a form of starch but just curious.
It's pretty high. I believe it's in the 70's
I have a chart at the house. I'll post it tomorrow if nobody else does before.
I don't eat any corn at all
Thanx.
Let me ask you how about pasta... The index is quite low and I have read articles that it is great source of energy... for later in the day
Wheat and white are not very far apart on the index. I believe in the low to mid 50's. It's on the chart I have at home as well.
Pasta is a great starchy carb for energy when bulking. I'd stay away from if in a cutting phase.
I am not dieting for a show just really maintaining and I just want to finf good sources of carbs for lunch and 3 o'clock meals so I can really train intense in the gym at 7:30. Whole wheat bread is a longer grain and is still high on the index... I have been experimenting with pasta at lunch not alot may be a cup of spaghetti and fely my workout stamina and strenghth have increased.
I found a great website if you don't already have it
www.glycemicindex.com
I'm in a cutting phase(sort of) of my diet right now. The only carb I eat is oatmeal.
Bulking, I'm eating pasta and breads like a mother flipper.
Oatmeal is great, I scoop a serving or two of raw oatmeal in every protein shake I gulp down(4) Excellent fibre as well.
I got a reading not bad ....
