    does tea make you retain wateR?

    before my workouts and during the day i drink tea i have around 4 teabags a day ......lipton ones it says no cals,suagr,fat,carbs......i am in a keto diet ....will it knock me out of ketosis or will it mke me retain water.......would adding 1 or 2 packets of equal make me retain any water?

    i never retain water with tea...i actually use it as a diurhetic to shed water.... or coffee occasionally.

    caffine in low amounts will make you shed water. but if you over do it ive been told it will make you hold water.

    Heh it sounds stupid, but except for eca now and then, i avoid caffine products as much as i can.

    Caffine and alcohol will dehydrate you. Both cause the body use more water than your taking in

    My trainer had me drop all equal and the like 3 weeks before my show because of water retention.

    whats the deal with equal, what was the reasoning for your trainer to make you drop it?
