i'm tryin to put on a few lbs of lean mass
and i was thinkin bout if snackin on nuts iz a good idea
i mean i know itz high in protein and loaded wit fat
so i'm unsure if daz a good snack idea
i usually down 280gramz
is this ok or iz it too much fat
if so what else do you guys think iz a good snack
although it is loaded with fat, it is good fat, which you should be getting anyway so peanuts are a good idea, personally I'd go with unsalted to keep the sodium down.

Yes, just had a bunch last night before bed. maybe not the right time to eat them, but loaded with protein, and yes, fat, but the kind your body actually uses, and needs.
Its supposed to be the good kind of fat in nuts. I think one ounce of peanuts has 8 grams of protien and 7 grams of carb. So, a quarter pound is 32 grams of protien.
If you are not counting carbs its a great thing to have as part of your diet.
Nutritionally speaking all nuts are not the same. Macadamian are higher in fat and lower in carb, and walnuts I think are lower in fat I think.
Bro....go with almond butter...far less saturated fats...better for your heart.
Peanuts or low salt peanut butter on whole wheat bread is awesome for you. Just remember moderation is the key, a handful a day.

Deffinitly a good idea... as is Peanut Butter. A good way for an ectomorph to bump us calories when bulking too.
Peanut Butter was first made to treat hospital patients. I believe it holds the historical mark as the first protein supplement.
As noted, Peanuts have good fats in them - non saturated. High in antioxidents, and help raise good chloesterol values. Diets high in unsaturated fats have also been shown to raise natural test levels. Cycling high fat diet's also helps teach your body to use fat as fuel.
Peanuts are not a complete protein source but when combined with the proteins in bread the aminos become complete for building muscle. So peanut butter sandwiches are good for you and comlete the amino acid profiles when peanuts are combined with whole wheat bread (white bread has the nutrional value stripped out of it and digest much fater than whole wheat - high GI). Also eating Peanut Butter with bread slows the absorbtion of the carbs associated with bread - less insulin flux.
When trying to raise calories - Peanut Butter is a great way to do it.
I eat peanuts everyday. The unsated is the way to go. Teddy smooth natural peanut butter is the shit.
What if you eat peanut butter with oatmeal, waffles, or baegals. I eat natural peanut butter on all those things while bulking and was wondering if those make PB a complete protein source?
The quality of all legume sources (peanuts, beans, peas,...) of protein increases to a more complete protein when combined with grain based foods, such as rice, bread, tortillas, ... (all better as whole wheat or the slow cooking versions).
You should opt for the whole wheat version but yes... bagels, waffles and oatmeal with peanut butter would be complete.
You can combine grains with legumes or add a more complete protein like Milk or Eggs to complement the protein (if your not a vegetarian).
Good Combos: Rice and beans, peanut butter and bread, chili and cornbread
