    protien absorbtion rate ???????

    Does anyone know if there is a certin amount of protien the body can absorb per hour or anything. What if someone took a protien powder with 22Gs per scoop and made a shake with 5, 10, or 20 scoops all at once? is this a waste of powder? would all or most of it be used?
    I eat my chiken breasts,tuna, steaks, ect everyday but sometimes unexpected things come up and you miss a meal or miss a shake time or two and I find myself making shakes with 2-3 scoops.

    why not start the day with a 15 scoop shake get all the protien needs out of the way

    any ideas? or scientiic facts that this would work or not work

    I believe it's something along the lines of 50g of protein per hour max absorbtion rate. The problem with shakes, is that they are liquid so they are absorbed very quickly. In and out. That is why they are needed post workout...because regular solid food takes time to start digestion and absorbtion, where as liquid protein (shake) is more immediate. So yes, you will be waisting protein if you go more than 40/50g per hour in a shake, unless it's time released.

    For one man too much protein at once is hard on your kidneys, there is no reason to do this. Like Josh said it is a wast. If you do happen to miss a meal. Make up for it at nighttime say when you go take a piss with a low to no carp high pro shake.

    I won't go into detail here because there's enough info on this stuff to sink a battleship, but generally spread your protien out evenly throughout the day. 50 grams at once is pretty rough, you'll be farting and shitting your pants. 30 grams every 2.5 to three hours is more than adaquate. best of luck! Anyone who says you need more probably works for a supplement company.

    What I do is take the total amount of protein you need in a day and divide by how many meals you eat per day.Like I need about 420-460 grams of protein a day and I eat (including 3 shakes) 8 times a day. So i divide the 460 by 8 which gives me roughly 60grams for each meal or shake. Stick between 30-50grams and you should be alright. Nut yes too much protein and you'll definitly be stinkin' up the gym!!
