Do You Drink Diet Beverages?
I was just wondering how many of you drink diet beverages (soda, iced tea, crystal light..etc).

However I was talkin to this freak in the gym the other day and he said he drinks diet soda right up until the day of his competitions. I was pretty surprised by his statement.

Don't believe everything you hear...
When guys would ask Arnold what he ate to get big or other questions he would never shoot em straight.
He always figured if you really want to know about BBing then join the gym and figure it out yourself...
Of course he has changed his thinking now...
good luck

if your on a diet, IMO diet will make u retain alittle water due to the carbonations and sodium benzonate, just have one or 2 diet sodas a week, diet ice tea would be a better choice, if u really want a diet soda and its either a diet soda or cheating, just drink the soda!

Nope... diet sodas taste like crap... so I do not have many sodas, but when I do, I have a can of coke, it's the real sweet thing
The rest of the time (like 99%) I have water or orange juice. (need the sugar from the OJ, I'm mildly hypoglycemic).

I shouldn't admit it but, yeah, I drink diet soda. I don't know if its mental or what but I seem to feel drowsy and get headaches if I miss out on the caffine.

zzo18- No your body can become, I'm not sure addicted is the right word but yeah if you're used to drinking alot of soda, coffee, or tea, you can get headaches without it.

Out of curiosity, do artificial sweetners cause an insulin spike?

Thanks again BT. I think that I'll probably decrease my intake amounts gradually. Its a weird thing, like you said, almost like an addiction.

But they could increase sugar cravings via the gimme-some-mo-shugga chemical in your brain housing group.
