Protein in a tuna can, do they lie?!
Maybe I squeeze the water out of my tuna hard but I took 1 can of drained tuna and got 90 grams = 19.85 g's of protein instead of the 2.5 servings time 13 = 33 g's of protein. I added a second can and got to 185 but I gave my dog a little(5-10 g's) from the second can...Which totals to 40 protein...2 cans = 40 or so grams of protein...****!!! .... This was bumblebee Chunk light by the way...
Any feedback would be appreciated...

you'd be surprised how much they can get away with on labels....i wouldnt doubt that they have some false info....AL i would just continue to measure it out for yourself....i assume you're using a digital scale if you can measure that accurately, if your not then maybe your measurements are off.

Ah....Im using a cheapo scale from bed bath and beyond...How inaccurate could a $5 scale be? It says it was accurate to like 5 g's or something...

If they were gonna lie on the label, I would think that they would make it say less calories on the label than there really are, not more.

When you drain the tuna, I don't think your supposed to squeeze it until it's bone dry... Maybe leave it a little moist and weigh it, as water retention in the tuna will dramatically impact the weight.

Ok..So how am I suppose to know how much protein Im eating if the can servings says "varied"...I want a value like 1 can of tuna = X, 1 can of albacore = Y, 1 can of salmon = Z, etc....

How about not eating tuna?
I'd just eat two cans to make sure or not eat it at all.....ain't gonna matter much really being that it's protein.....

if i could afford not to eat tuna i would gladly axe it...unfortunately $.50 a can is something that i really cant pass up being a broke college kid that pays rent.
