Soup a yes or a No!

eventhough soup isn't really highcarb/calorie/protein it can stop your appetite.

but i heard sumo restlers drink a lot of soup! and it is salt and asalt does result in water retention.

currently on a cutting cycle, is this a yes or a no!!

I wouldn't unless it is very low calorie. I wouldn't want to waste my cals on a food like soup when you can be getting some nice protein or other much more usefull energy sources. But I guess if the soup is very low cal it could probably fill you up and make the hunger go away. I really dont know I don't like soup (except for chowders, dont even think about those haha) so I really dont have much experiance with their macro makeup.

What about a black bean soup. Some soups are high in protein but I would only use it for a makeup meal, maybe if you are in a hurry otherwise I agree with pain on this, stack that meal with some PRO!

I eat it all the time but I also have a protein shake and either a piece of fruit or some rice cakes with it (I'm on a cutting diet with no noticeable ill-effects during the past ~7 weeks).
