    TB,
It really depends on who you ask and what you are trying to accomplish. I'm in a bulking phase, I only drink water, except when working out. Then, I have a concoction i drink that is 75% simple carbs and 25% protein, with some BCAA's added for good measure. There is a reason I drink what i do, read it in a book, and backed by clinical data.

I'm sure there will be others that will quickly provide you their opinion, so to a certain extent, you have to be the judge for yourself.

    Good luck

Juice is mostly sugar, which is useless. Plus, it is a huge amount of calories that will displace something needed from your diet. I don't think milk is as bad, but once again, it displaces calories from your diet that are probably better spent on something else.

I drink water, almost black coffee, unsweetened tea and recently started drinking diet sodas again even though my diet coach said they can increase appetite (bad because I have been cutting).

Crystal light is awesome! It's got like 5 calories per serving.

Water for myself. However, I think skim milk is acceptable in moderation if it fits into your macros.

Almost all water for me... along with a bit of diet soda and sugar free juice (crystal light, etc).

Regular juice is loaded with sugar and has all the fiber stripped, might as well shovel teaspoon's of table sugar into your mouth.

While I LOVE milk and could drink a gallon/day easily, I stay away from it while cutting as 12g carbs/sugar per 8oz is just too high a price for me, considering I try to keep daily sugar intake in the 20g - 40g range.

This may be waaayy off, but I heard that crystal light type drink mixes (delicious and I love them) are bad to take because they can spike hunger or trick your body to store fat..? Im not sure if this is true or not, but when I heard it I stoped drinking crystal light. Please tell me this is just a myth, cause it made water so much better.

I've never seen any evidence of that. The only possibility I could see is that being these drinks are sweet, it can entice people who have an insatiable sweet tooth to go for something with real sugar - inadvertently causing them to add body fat. For me, they've always satisfied a craving for something sweet, not made it worse.

I'm with Gbrice, I've never heard of crystal light being bad or unhealthy for you. Keep in mind, I only use lemonade and no other flavor. I also dont drink diet soda.

If it’s not water than it’s a glass of local organic wine for me, nadda else.

    IMO:
Milk is nasty and frankly bizarre that people drink it lol, basically it’s produced by a mom to get a calf to gain weight as fast as possible...it prob will do the same for people
Juice is mostly sugars and different fruits/juices can mix with bad results with vitamins and supplements and medications,
Coffee and sodas are dehydrating and addictive...that’s enough for me to stay clear (esp. for what they charge for coffee)

I think society just has forgotten that water is needed to hydrate the body; everything else is cr@p/a treat that is just so readily available now and changed from a treat to a big gulp with every meal and inbetween. Everything is empty cals or artificially sweetened which enforces craving sweet stuff or rotten teeth etc.

When we are thirsty it means we are already dehydrated, guzzling down coffee or soda or grape juice is not doing a body any favors.
Never mind if a low carb/sugar diet is involved, than you have to drink a butt load of water to flush the byproduct outta your body. We are (star trek “ugly giant bags of mostly water") every tiny thing in us needs water to run rite

@fatluke_nofx ... you are correct sir if it has aspertame in it, other substitutes don’t have or do have on a minute level the same effect. Atkins is ONE of the well-known plans/people that make this clear (I can’t explain it, I don’t know the science off hand lol, but I have read many studies confirming this and if you) not to mention the other side effects of it including the effect on people with certain genitic conditions. The FDA has 2x raccepted/rejected it as safe and has slowly allowed it in diff products for consumtion and some countries legaly require the amount of aspertame listed on the products due to conflicting study reports ... but now aspertame is in everything from tooth past/yogart/gum/perscription & otc drugs/chips ect..so dont freak out about a drink mix packet if you dont care about the other mediums your ingesting it bye.

Thers alot of diff info on it out there, but you will find 1 basic thing.... if your a person that isnt keen on eating what you dont fully understand you will prob stay as clear from it as much as you can lol
