    Low Bodyfat=Cold all the time?

    Stupid question:

Does anyone else find that the lower their bodyfat goes, the colder they feel?

I swear, the lower mine goes the more often i find myself reaching for a sweat shirt, turning up the heat, etc.

Is this a function of less insulation (i.e. less fat) or does this have something to do with my thyroid going into hibernation due to restricted caloric intake?

Or is it all in my head?

    Anybody?

Sounds like an insulation problem, also if you are lowering your carbs to get down to these low BF levels that will effect your T4-T3 conversion and thereby make you run colder.

Once I get below 10% I'm always cold.

I track my temp while dieting and it's always lower when I don't eat any carbs. Metablic rates and such slow down when you don't add as much fuel.

Yeah I get cold easily if I am reasonably lean. Like lean enough to see some halfways decent abs, which is most of the year for me. I chalk it up to being one of those people who can't take cold. But on the flipside in the summer when other people are roasting and complaining I am confortable in the heat.

Yes it is a proven fact, that the less fat cells you have in your body you will feel colder. Fat is an insulator and helps regulate body temp.
