    Favorite Lean Bulk PWO Carb?

Looking for what you folks consume IMMEDIATELY after your lift "carb-wise" while you lean bulk.

I've used Dextrose in the past but looking for something new (healthy)

i usually wait at least 30mins to an hr to cool down and stuff then i eat blueberry oatmeal pancakes usually cuz they have 100g carbs and 60g protein..

today i had 1/2 cup brn rice and half pound (8oz/224g) lean ground beef mixed in with reduced sugar ketchup, hot sauce, and garlic powder.. pretty good

Nothing. I usually relax, drink some water. Watch TV, and then later that night eat something. If you're looking for some "Magic Window" where you need to feed yourself, there is no such thing.

Oats or yam but not immediately ever sometime I drink a protien shake in the locker room if I am really hungry. I usually have oats when I wake, pre workout and 1-1 1/2 hours after workout.

I was always made to believe that fats shouldn't be consumed for PWO, and that a 2:1 (Carb/Pro) PWO meal was taken in within 15 minutes of your workout, and then another 2:1 about an hour later.

Have times really changed that much??? lol

Yes the 15 minute deal is just a tool used by sup companies I eat 1 1/2 hours after

Not that much. You wouldn't really want to take in fats for 30mins post workout. Particularly if taking with a straight way.

As for a PWO immediately with carbs? Doesn't matter, definitely not essential and I wait about an hour before I eat a real meal.

There are recent studies suggesting that GH can be stimulated up to 30 minutes post lifting and that taking in a larger portion of whey can help accentuate this. Of course, these studies may well be funded by a supplement company. Either way, I take in a whey shake immediately upon cessation of my workout nowadAys, if only to ensure its easier to get in my daily protein allowance with no problems.

My PWO is either chicken+rice, Chicken+Broccoli or Chicken+Cottage cheese, depending which day of the carb cycle it is. I'm actually preferring real food as a PWO. I really dislike shakes, it's only their convenience that makes me use them.

I normally get my meal in 30-45 mins after workout.

Since it seems most of you are waiting 30-45 minutes for your PWO meal, am I also to assume the PWO 2 meal has been phased out (roughly 1 hour later)? And that you just go on to your next meal as scheduled (for me it's every two hours)?

My mrs came home with a big bag of this today. I know how I'm carb loading on Sunday! Boom! 1kg couscous, garlic and herb style.

Made sweet potatoe wedges last week but they were horribly soft.

When am I coming for dinner? Monday good for you?!
Think I might give that a try. Previously my favourite has just been couscous by itself with a really big helping of butter mixed through!

I mix about 1/2-3/4 cup old-fashioned oats into my protein shake. I also think that having some complex carbs in the shake helps with protein digestion and absorption.

i like a shake on my way home from the gym, as it is nice and cold and taste good. Im never worried about the supposed "magic window" either, but my chake consist of whey and a mixture of carbs from a local company.

    2 scoops whey
    1 scoop waxy maize
    1 scoop carbo lean

works out to 561 cal- 50g pro- 83g carb- and like 3 grams of fat
