Post HIIT Nutrition
Hi All,
I am taking 3-4 weeks off due to an injury. I will pretty much be laying off gym (my body needs the rest too ) and will only be doing some HIIT cardio 2-3x a week. I plan to do:
10 minutes warmup cardio to get blood pumping
20-25 minutes abs
15 minutes HIIT
My questions are:
1. What should I take after the workout?? Dextrose and whey like normal? Whey only? Real meal?
2. Should I wait an hour after or should I have the meal or shake straight after
3. If I have a shake, should I then have a proper meal 1 - 1.5 hour after?
4. Should that meal inlcude any fat, or just protein and perhaps carbs.
Thanks!

post workout would be a good idea to take some dextrose with a high carb, medium protein, low fat shake. And about 1.5-2 hours later have a solide meal consisting of almost the same amount of carbs and protien as the shake. and try to keep the fat to a very minumum. hope this helped.

good question,
So post cardio nutrition should be exactly the same as post weight training nutrition?
I always assumed this but was never sure.
