If somebody wants to gain weight how much calories should they eat a day?
Example say a 175lbs guy.
How much calories a day should he eat to gain weight?
How much carbs should he eat a day to gain?
We all know about the protein but I am focused on the calories and carbs at the moment.
Cheers

us a 40/40/20 macro split for starters and suggest maybe TDEE + 500 cals to gain, and then adjust as you feel necessary.
know what any of that means?

And I saw your thread about dbol and wine. If you have no clue about what you should be eating to gain weight, then you should not be fooling around with dbol, especially at 24

my point, mate, is that averages do not work for the population of body builders at large. we are all significantly different, with different genetics, different physiques, different weights, different body fat %, different height, different age......
.....if it seemed confusing to you, then read it again and again til it is not confusing to you. No one here is paid to spoon feed you.
but I will cut you some slack since maybe mathematics and you aint mates....
give me the following and I can put a simple nutrition plan together for you
height
weight
body fat % - estimate with a range if you do not know
age
I will calculate your TDEE for you, and then will add 500 calories to that.
btw, you will never get far in this lifestyle if that one thread was confusing to you. You need to be the master of your body, and fully understand everything it is you want to do to it and what you want it to do for you.
Give me the data. If I forget, PM me

Easy way.......
175lbs x 15 = 2625 cals (maintainance cals)
2625 cals + 500 = 3125
Watch your waistline and adjust.

weight x 15?
I'm familiar with it, it just doesn't make any sense to me.
two blokes, one at 15% BF at 6 foot and the other at 30% bf at 5'6"
both have the same TDEE???
and with age comes the slowing of the BMR
everything else the same, a 20 year old will have a higher BMR than a 50 year old.
...yeah, I guess you can push a thumbtack into the bulletin board with a 20 pound sledge, but a thumb works so much better =)

Makes sense to me. Just a guideline, the OP was confused with the original explanation, so i gave an easy one, which needs to be monitored like all diets i suppose.
Sledge hammer all the way man.........hardcore.
