    Sodium / salt ?

Iv read arguments on both sides and I still can't decide where I am with this. So Can we have a quick straw poll on wether you add this in to your diet, or avoid it and go for low salt products, cheers.

Avoid. I seem to get plenty from my food.
Edited / I just checked myfitnesspal. I get very little sodium with food intake. I was surprised. I haven't noticed any negative performance.

Avoid aswell... I never add anything but spices/seasoning(paprika/Cheyenne) to my foods... Too much salt in everything as it is, imo... Or plenty of...

i don't pay attention to it all.

i think one would have to worry about sodium intake if one was looking to go on stage, or someone with hypertension and/or medical/medication issues

it is an important electrolyte in our body

U need a little sodium in your diet as if your eating real clean there might not be enough in the basic meal to stop you getting bad cramps

I dont add salt to anything really. I honestly dont pay much attention to it but then again I do not compete or anything. If I did I am sure I would and would also probably manipulate my sodium intake close to contest time as well.

    This ^

Sodium is not evil like propaganda would have you think, you should eat no less than 2 grams a day for an average male.

Salt is kinda like the poor mans creatine. (thats a little bit of a stretch) but if you don't have BP issues and you're not trying to shed water for the stage salt it up

I do not add any in but on the flip side sodium must be present in lower intestine for proper absorption and digestion of carbohydrates, this is especially important for contest prep as so many people manipulate sodium intake during carb up...
So i would agree with statement made by Khazima, got to make sure you get enough but i believe it can be achieved through regular food intake...
