    Always thirsty

Any time i eat i drink alot of water and going to wc 15-20mins. I keep 2l of water near my bed at night because i wake up of the thirst. In the morning when i eat 3 whole eggs and oat meal i drink like crazy(about 3l of water). I need to carry bottle of water with me all the time lol. Maybe it's because of the eggs. I feel if i eat more protein i need to drink alot. Im 30 yr old training 3 times a week. I checked my sugar levels 1 year ago it was normal. Maybe some problems with kidneys or its just normal when you working out ?

I have the same issue although my blood glucose is always well within range. I've always drank large amounts of fluids and several Drs. have written it off as polydipsia.

I had to look up that word: Polydipsia, great word :-) (def: Excessive and constant thirst caused by disease.)

to me it would be very alarming...both of my dogs started to drink a lot of water before they died. Kidneyfailure. One of the most common symptoms on kidneyfailure is thirst. I would go to the doc, not tomorrow...but today!

Yes. I had this problem before, did BW twice a year but everything was fine, excepts cholesterol(it was high, did Thyroid and other BW, was fine). I always eat clean. I can't remember when i eat junk food or had coca cola. I'm going to know my cholesterol tomorrow too.

Then look at things like caffeine intake, especially pre-workout drinks. Caffeine has a mild diuretic property to it. Secondly, look at your bottled water intake. Most bottled water is devoid of electrolytes and minerals and will also act as a mild diuretic as it pulls salts out of the kidneys.

All BW was perfect, even it was better then the last time, kidney, liver fine. Just my main cholesterol "7", when it should be 2,6-5,2. Doc said that im genetically predisposed to high cholesterol. My mom have high chol, so i think me too. I always had high chol as i remember. Gona take omega 3 and vitamin e, because last time my cholesterol was 6 when i was using it.

Are you sweating a lot you are not working out, have you got ephidrosis? I don't think that's your kidneys problem cause if it does with this amount of water you are drinking and your kidneys didn't function probably you will couldn't breath cause you will had too much water retention. Maybe you are just thirsty.

When i dont work out and dont eat alot, i dont drink so much. When i work out i drink 2l of water easy. In my gym i dont see anybody else drinking so much, only on youtube other BBers drink so much lol. I feel energetic, no fatique. Just everyone asks me were your water goes. My doc says thats normal if you train and eat alot. Doc sad that she can do biopsy if i want, but my BW was fine, so there is no point.

No urine test? It would have been interesting to know specific gravity.

Is your water fortified with electrolytes?

It is very common for athletes to sweat out all their salts and not replace it by drinking bottled/purified/distilled water.

You must have some salt in your water for your kidneys to be able to take on water.

If you set up a high concentration gradient in the kidneys. Water will move in the wrong direction in the passive portion of water reabsorption.
