    Thoughts on Air Fryer?

I didn't even know these things existed but my wife got one and made sweet potato french fries in it today. They were REALLY good. This thing somehow fries food without any oil. I'm thinking that because there is no oil or fat it's fried using air somehow that it should be healthy?

What are your thoughts experience and knowledge about this crazy machine?

There is zero oil at all. Such a weird concept. I guess it's like when the microwave came it. It was a magical cooking machine. haha

In the UK the main brand one is a Tefal Acti-fry.
This uses a teaspoon of oil and makes fries/chicken taste like they were deep-fried.

I hadnt thought of it, but I suppose as KingKong said, as long as you factor in the oil you use, there is no reason you couldnt use these for daily prep.
I am going to look at these ones that use no oil. Im curious to know how they work!

**UPDATE** Air Fryer uses a teaspoon of oil. Even though it claims to be oil less.

A teaspoon is only 16 grams of fat spread between a bunch of breast seems doable right?you have any clue how much chicken you could cook properly at once?

Again, I'm only talking about the Tefal Actifry - I am unsure of the other models.
I know it comes in a few sizes, the family one being the biggest. You could quite comfortably get 4-5 breasts in there. Possibly more if you diced/sliced them. It has a rotating "spoon" which makes sure everything gets cooked evenly.

This is the only kind of fryer I can get here in India. I never even considered one until I saw this thread but now I am going to pick one up. Seems super convenient.

I need to have my wife show me how to use this thing. I force down sweet potatoes but I hate them. However, in the air fryer they were AWESOME. I couldn't get enough.

I appreciate you sharing! Never heard of this before but looks great. I typically don't buy small appliances because I need a bigger kitchen to store all gadgets so been sticking to basics.
