    Weight Gainers

I have a very busy schedule with school and all. I don't really have enough time with class and all to get enough carbs that I need for me to see gains. Is weight gainer a good ideal or not? I know that they contain all kinds of carbs and protein. What do ya think?

the only problem i have with most weight gainers is that the carbs are usually junk.

you are much better off making your own gainer shake so you know exactly what is in it.

for example, here is an awesome recipe for a shake that is pretty heavy in the macros...

    2 scoops whey
    1 cup raw oatmeal
    2 tbsp natural pb
    16-18 oz's water
    handful of ice

    comes out to 727 calories, 60 g protein, 75 g carbs and 20 g fat

I agree with Xavier. I found most weight gainers to be full of empty calories. They tend to bloat people's stomachs it seems. Mixing your own or finding something that's actually meant to be a meal replacement is probably the best thing.
