eating the same foods day in day out... bad?

if i eat the same thing every dayis that bad?
for example this is a rough sketch of my diet that i have been sticking to for some time... i was just wondering if i should switch it up or not...

    Meal 1
    1 ½ cup oatmeal – 513cal 90g C
    2 scoops protein – 266cal 50g P
    500mL Homo milk – 314cal 17g P
    Total: Approx. 1100cal 67g P 90g C

    Meal 2
    1 Apple – 100cal 20gC
    1 can Tuna – 120cal 30g P
    1 whole wheat bagel – 266cal 57g C
    Total: Approx: 490cal 30g P 77g C

    Meal 3
    1 Large chicken breast with a few additives for taste – 600cal 50g P
    2 cups brown rice – 400cal 80g C
    Total: Approx. 1000cal 50g P 80g C

    Meal 4

    Meal 5

    Meal 6
    1000g cottage cheese – 400 cal 60g P
    1 tbs natty peanut butter - ???

meal 4 and 5 are usually what I feel like eating (keeping in mind that I still keep it healthy) and usually one of those meals is a post workout (2 scoops whey, 3 tablespoons dextrose) unless it is an off day.

so what do you think... is there a need to change things once in a while or can i just stick with this until i start cutting (wont be for another 5 months or so)?

    thnx

Man I find myself eating the same shit day in and day out. Breakfast is usually some egg whites (scrambled or hard boiled), oatmeal, a banana, OJ, english muffin.

Lunch I really like making my own fajitas - boiled chicken breast, tortilla, black / refried beans, some green chili sauce.

I dunno, sometimes it's hard to change things up and find something worth eating. Other times it's 3 AM and I find myself shoving Krispy Kream donuts down my throat.

My diet is damn near the same day in and day out, except weekends. I'll switch it up there, I find keeping it more or less the same makes it easier to follow and keep track of.

I like to switch it up as much as I can just for some taste variety, but there is no research downing the consumption of the same foods day in and day out. don't worry big dog.

yea i think we all suffer from that, but for me it takes the thought out of food, so i have more time to think of other stuff that possible might drive me crazy...lol

Welcome to the club Gino. Diet is always super strict during the week but more flexible on weekends. During the week I shoot for a minimum of 7 meals, while weekends I'm lucky if I get in 5. And one of those 5 always being a cheat meal of course!

Sounds like we're all in the same boat...most "nutrition experts" will tell you that you're not getting enough variety and thereby missing out on essential nutrients...that's why we take multi-vitamins, etc. I don't see the problem in it...mix things up if you need to if you're getting bored...but if you're comfortable eating a certain routine...no need to fix it if it's not broken.
