Grits, i just happen to have some right here. It white hominy that has been grounded up. It looks grounded rice.
Hominy is a type of corn, but tast nothing like whole kernal corn.
The only good way to eat grits is with REAL BUTTER A LITTLE SALT AND SOME SUGA. No other way for me.

It depends on if you have instant grits or slow cooking grits. It not complicated and there will be directions on the package that are easy to follow. It is similar looking to cous cous but smaller granuals. It's off white in color.

When I was in Mississippi (whew!) I had a buddy that was from Alabama, and he would put ketchup, butter, eggs, sausage, salt, pepper, hot sauce, and anything that wasn't nailed down on the table! I didn't understand the whole thing, but I did eat the grits, not ground down, but hominey grits with some butter and pepper. Pretty good..

damn bro grits are good, like them w/2 eggs overeasy all mixed together...butter and ground pepper is good in grits also......but if u have never had or even seen grits before then if u ever get a chance, say at a restaurant, then just ask if u can order just 1 grit since you've never tried them before.

I love grits
I hate watery grits with a passion. They have to be "fluffy" and stick to your bones.

Vinny: Uh, do you remember what you had?
Town Person: Eggs and grits.
Vinny: Eggs and grits. I like grits too. How do you cook your grits? Do you like them regular, creamy, or al dente?
Town Person: Just regular, I guess.
Vinny: Regular.....instant grits?
Town Person: No self-respectin' Southerner uses instant grits. I take pride in my grits.
