Bump.
Eating every 2 1/2-3 hrs. will keep your metabolism boosted and running strong thru-out the day.Quote:

You need to look in the suppliments section rather than foods.
Im sure you know of suppliments that help the metab' but I dont think foods actually help increase the speed of the metabolism.
Fruits basically.
I don't know of any foods that boost your metabolism besides maybe those containing phenalyenine(sp*). Phenalyenine is commonly used as a sugar replacement and mimics the effects of caffeine.
But as already mentioned the best way to boost the metabolism is to eat small portions every 2-3 hrs, that way your body knows when the next meal is coming and can utilize it accordingly.
Like everyone else said, definitely eat small frequent meals to boost your metabolism. My advice is to eat your first meal right after getting up and then keep it up throughout the day.
As i understand it, an increased protein intake will boost metabolism slightly as well, as protein has a higher thermal effect (takes a little more energy to digest) - it's not a huge amount, but it helps.
I'd also kick up the spicy foods...i love 'em anyway - there's nothing like that sweat from a good hot salsa...if you don't enjoy the hot food, you could take supplemental capascian (sp?) - the ingredient in spicy stuff that gives it that kick - you should be able to find it at the health-food store...
