fructose restores liver glycogen, not muscle glycogen

i live in jordan so i dont know if it would be worth it to order from the internet , it will be very expensive, while i was in school in the states i used to order form the internet and it was dirt cheap but now im sure it will be very expensive thats why im trying to find some alternatives. so do you think im better off not adding anything to my shake? what about having a small boiled potatoe right after my work out and then the protein shake when i get home 20 min later would that be good?
thanx again

Honey is a great alternative if you can't get anything else. You should have that there, so just add the honey and the protein. I'm not sure of the dosage, but i think Big Tex knows.

Honey has worked for me..... I prefer it over dextrose just because dex is too damn sweet for me to stomach. 1 spoonfull is about 17g of carbs. I usually use about 5 teaspoons of honey and 40g of protein powder in mine. It comes out to about 85g of carbs. If anything else you can use gatorade.

Gatorade, sweet tarts (yep candy), and raisens are better alternatives than honey IMO.
Honey will serve the same function as say fruit. Good for pre-workout but not post-workout.

Honey is about 40% fructose and only ranks 58 on the GI
dextrose ranks 100 on the GI

Like Texas said, you can always use Gatorade. Personally, I use Powerade because I can get it dirt cheap ($2 for 30 servings).
