He means we will move this to the diet forum...don't worry GV...we won't send you anywhere

Sausage is absolutely loaded with saturated fat and sodium....not good for a bodybuilder! They may have protein but any value is drastically diminished by the fat and salt. Stick to lean sources of protein...lean beef, chicken, turkey, all fish (moderate of fatty fish such as salmon and herring) and eggs.

My understanding is even the fatty fish such as Salmon is still good...The Omega fats in fish are easily metabolized by the body, which means you can have them in your diet without much of a problem. Unless I am misunderstanding Pete here and he means you CAN have it.

Sorry for the misunderstanding solid...but NO, DO NOT eat sausage!!

You are spot in in your assesment of salmon which is very high in omega 3 (or essential fats). As a matter of fact there are many fat dense foods that are good for you because the fats (EFA's - essential fatty acids) help increase energy, keep your skin and hair healthy and provide balence to your diet. Herring, fatty tuna, mackerel are also high in fat but are good for you (in moderation of course). Avacados, un-salted nuts, olive oil, egg yolks, flax seed oil and Udos oil (Udo's is the guy who markets this product which is high in omega 6 fats).
However, the fat found in common variey sausage is the same greasy fat that forms globules in the frying pan after cooking a pound of fatty ground beef...the artery clogging, cholesterol raising fat that does nothing except add flavor and mega calories...empty calories, to food.

sausages are not our friend is right..unless you add 1/2 pound of baken and some home fries..maybe a couple of eggs..once over easy.

hey..may friend when you are looking at the protein content on anything ..skim down to the fat and carb content as well.

    stay away from the stuff...
