Brown rice is low on the gi scale. I think it has a rating of 55. Anything below 55 is considered to be low.

Brown rice has a lower GI rating, meaning it causes a smaller insulin spike. Brown rice is the kind of carb that provides a slow, steady burn, and since it doesn't cause a higher insulin spike, it's propensity for immediate fat storage is much less.

Yup! Rambo hit it right on the head.
I only eat rice in a post-workout meal however, so for me it's always white!
