    kidney beans

Are kidney beans a good source of complex carbs.......for like befor a workout, or your first meal after your protein shake? I am not talking bushes baked beans, I'm talking like the kinda kidney beans you might find at a good mexican restaraunt.

Not ideal for a post-workout meal, as they have quite a bit of fiber, and slowing digestion post-workout is NOT something I'd encourage doing.

Ok, but they are a good thing to eat at other times? Just kinda in kick back mode right now, not bulking or cutting.

IMO they're a good source of complex carbs, as well as fiber...

if you're not specifically cutting carbs from your diet, i'd say go ahead with the beans...just not PWO

PWO is post-workout - in other words, the meal (or shake, whatever) you consume immediately after your workout...

Same difference bruh, the meals should both be simplistic forms of nutrients.

O.K., so what source of carbs could I use for my first meal following my protein shake? I would like a change from brown rice. Wheat pasta perhaps?
