    Ok..stupid question time!

Stupid question about cardio??? Most people say that your heart rate should be at 60-70% when doing cardio. Ok, what exactly soes that mean? 60-70% of what? How would you monitor if you are at 60-70%??? Do the little bars that you put your hands on on most traedmills help? Can you use that to tell?? Sorry for the syupid question but I just wanted to know! Thanks bro's!!

Another bro asked just yesterday how to figure out what your heart need to be to hit 70-85%. Do a search on "heart rate" and check it out. It's not to hard to figure out at all.

For myself I don't really pay much attention to my heart rate. I kind of go on breath rate exchange. While doing cardio, if I can carry on a conversation with the guy next to me without having to stop talking to catch my breath then I'm not running hard enough. Something my doc told me about just to save me from trying to hit a number everytime I do cardio. Seems to work pretty well for me.

I'm 25 and at 60-70% of my MHR I could blow up a balloon.
You've gotta' be going way higher than that...

If your goal is to burn off that unsightly muscle maybe....

60-70% has been shown to be the optimum range for fat-burning. Anything higher and you are using glucose as primary fuel.

    My bad.

I meant it in a different voice inflection.

More like "if you can't carry on normal conversation then your HR is probably more like 80-90%."

I am a firm supporter of the 60-70% range.
