Is psuedoephedrine much different from ephedrine and if so, how?

Pseudoephedrine is a decongestant. It works by constricting (shrinking) blood vessels (veins and arteries) in the nose, lungs, and other mucus membranes. By decreasing blood flow to the nose, lungs, and other areas, pseudoephedrine decreases congestion, and airways are opened up. Pseudoephedrine is used to treat congestion associated with allergies, hay fever, sinus irritation, and the common cold. Pseudoephedrine also causes a little more insomnia. The only down side is that alkaloids strain your heart more than pseudoephedrine. As you see each has it benefits and drawbacks. IMO I would just go with the ephedrine alkaloids as they shrink less blood vessels and have a better benefit at kick starting your metabolism.

Question: Are there over the counter medications that contain straight ephedrine? I've always used psuedoephedrine and it works well. I only use it a couple times per week before an intense workout...I just feel that it is unhealthy to do too often (was using it way too often in the past).

How many times per week do you use your stimulant? It also seems that you need to take slightly more psuedoephedrine. Usually 60-90mg with 120mg caffeine works well.

look for Bronkaid...it has 25mg ephedrine HCl in it...
