Popeyes chicken on cutting diet!
I dunno you tell me.
Popeyes
Chicken - Spicy Breast©
Serving Size: 1
Calories: 270
Total Fat: 16 grams
Cholesterol: 60 milligrams
Sodium: 590 milligrams
Carbohydrates: 9 grams
Fiber: 2 grams
Sugars: 0 grams
Protein: 23 grams
Low carb, and the fat shouldnt be to big of a problem. Its not an everymeal sort of thing. But no more fat that a can of tuna made with real mayo. Eat two or three eggs to it and some brocolli and you have a nice lunch. Only problem is throwing away the free buiscit they give you! Not the cheapest way to get 23 grams of protien either. But one a day? might make the whole diet thing alot less painfull.

One is not nearly enough protein for what I need, and having said that, the amount of carbs it would total is way over what is acceptable w/all that fat. Not the best fat to be eating anyhow.
If it sounds too good to be true, it is!

You mean if you ate enough of them to give you your protien it would add up to two much fat and carb? Or that one is still too much?
12pm
half cup oatmeal
6eggs
3pm
Chicken breast
1/2 serving rice (about 25g carb 5fat)
6
same as above
or tuna and wheat bread
9 same
12am
nearcarbless meal
steak of protien shake or tuna
I usually take in about 40 gram of pro a meal and 20-30 carbs, less before bed. Dont really watch my fat, but i only eat chicken, eggs whites, tuna and the occational steak. The tuna has about 13g once you add a tbs of mayo.
So you dont think i could switch a popyes breast and a few eggs for tuna on wheat?
seems like the marcos add up. about 15G fat, maybe the chicken is low on carbs, but the pro can be handled by eggs. I know it how you feel, the words popeyes and diet dont go together but its hard for me to see a problem. Maybe too few quality carbs. doubt anyone knows the GI on popeyes chicken

I meant the protein that I need PER meal is way higher than a piece of that chicken. I'd have to eat 3-4 pcs. of chicken to meet ("MEAT", lol) the protein requirement, thus I'd have waaaaaaaaay too many carbs in the meal that being processed flour breading, and couple that w/the fat and you have disaster.
Can you use one piece? I guess, but I'd just save it for a cheat day and enjoy more of it with the darn biscuits. I'm not driving to Popeye's for 1 piece of meat that I'll have to include with more food already............I'd just have more of the other food. Just my opinion that's about it........

The macros aren't terrible for one piece of chicken, but again, ONE piece. What fun is that? Besides, the 16g of fat would be better coming from unsaturated fats and omega 3s...the fat in this chicken comes from trans fat, which is the worst of the bunch...structurally similar to saturated fat, but artificially made and carcinogenic..I can't wait until 2006 when it will be required for nutrtition labels to include amt. of trans fat. I am curious to know where those 2g of fiber come from...I can't imagine Popeye's batters their chicken in whole wheat flour.

Well, i think its a doable thing. I mean, im not actually trying to be healthy, just look good trans fat be ****ed
But I think the problem for me would be just eating one peice. Or rather, when i am strict i sort of forget about bad foods. I have for instance walked down the cookie/candy aslie on accident and was almoast suprised it existed. That can be a very good thing. But eating like, one M&M a day, while inconsequential to a diet, would keep me thinking about junk food all day. I would rather forget about Popeyes warm buttery biscuits and crisp hot fries.....droool.....
