Plan of action after a Binge...

Ok...

So let's just say I decided to binge again because I have no ****ing dedication :(

I ate enough calories in the last 5 hours to last me 3 days lol. I told myself that this is my last time, because I am sick as **** and I really want to puke I feel so sick. I am not doing this anymore, I am going to write down a strict schedule for cheat days/meals for once every 7 days. I am also goign to start taking an ECA stack to help burn fat and supress my hunger a little.

Anyway... my question is after a binge like this, what is my best plan of action for the rest of the night? It is only 7:30 here and in my off day schedule I still have 2 more meals that I am supposed to eat, and then some whey/flax before bed. Should I skip the rest of my meals since I obviously won't be able to stomach any more food and just let my body have a good 12 hours to digest all the crap I ate, or should i wait about 4-5 hours and then have my whey/flax before bed and then call it a day and start hitting it hard in the morning with my AM Cardio and strict eating all day?

i would go with plan B...oh and one thing my girl pointed out to me which you mite want to take into consideration....say that you in 6 days put yourself at a 600 calorie deficit....3600 calories or just over 1lb of fat lost...then on your cheat day you eat 1000 calories over maintenance....next day you do your AM cardio for 700 burned calories plus a 600 diet deficit now your back to your 3600 deficit for the week and lost your lb of fat. i dont know how true this is, but it made sense to me...which basically says that if you eat perfectly 6 days a week that binge wont necessarily help you, but it wont hurt you either....i have had cheat days that were sickening....but i still am seeing plenty of good results.

Yea it's weird.... the last 2 times I have cheated like this and binged, I felt sick and huge, where I got so bloated for a few hours I couldn't flex my abs hard enough to see them lol. Its like that right now, but what I have found is that if I don't eat after I do it, and just let my body have 12-15 hours with just water and sleep, and then get up and do my am cardio and eat extremely clean the next day, I am back to normal the next day. So tomorrow I will feel all fat and nasty, and hopefully by tuesday I should be back to normal. I am just glad today wasn't a training day... because it would suck to not be able to eat and lose some muscle after binging like this lol.

Tomorrow I will probably just cut all my carb meals and eat only pro/fat besides PWO and PPWO. Keep the carbs down under 100 grams for tomorrow and I think I will get back on track. I can't wait for my ECA to get here, I ordered all the supplements from Bulk Nutrition last week, they should be here middle of this week :)

I'm sorry, but i just have to laugh...after eating that many calories do you really think your body is gonna break down muscle because it doesn't have enough energy available to it?? no...When you have excess calories, there is no need for your body to catabolize muscle. The only time you need to worry about losing muscle from not eating regular meals is when you are in a caloric deficit.

Yea after I wrote that I thought it sounded stupid lol .... :) Glad I could give ya a good laugh. Does my little plan sound ok though? Or should I axe the shake/flax before bed and just give my body a good ammount of time to get this outa my system?

well i would say it really depends on how you feel....you are already above your caloric goal for the day, but if you can stomach something healthy i dont think it would be any more detrimental than eating another cookie....at least you can still get the benefits from the flax oil which go beyond fat burning anyway..if you feel like eating anything will make you vomit then just skip it and start up strong the next day.

I don't see the point of having the shake after a binge. Your body does not need or want any more food. Missing out on EFAs for one day is not going to have any kind of negative effect. The benefits of a healthy diet are long-term. They don't come on a day-by-day basis. Just take the day as a loss, and start over the next day.

Depends on what you binged on.

If your binge lacked adequate protein, your body most certainly needs those aminos from the shake, yup!

I.E., if you ate a bag of cheetos and 2 milky way bars, you're in need of protein.

Good thing to do if your not too lethargic at that point is take a 30 min fast paced stroll around the neighborhood...come back relax a little and have a protein/oil shake minutes later. Then call it the night.

Well...

I ended up staying awake for a while after I posted, so I waited till about 3am and had the protein shake w/ flax and called it a night. I just got off the treadmill this morning and I must say I feel much much better... my bloating went down quite a bit and I don't feel sick anymore. I am going to cut my oatmeal out of meal 1 today and add another egg and just have a pro/fat meal to keep fat burning going, and then just eat extremely clean the rest of the day. I decided after last night that is my last binge, I can't stand feeling like that anymore. I also decided to incorporate some new stuff info my diet to help me out....

I bought the following:

R-ALA
Biotin
1 Bottle of 200mg Caffeine Tablets
1 Bottle of Ephenedrine HCL
1 Bottle of Bayer Asprin

I also bought another bottle of Stacker III w/ Ephedra for the afternoon to use as an appetite supressant. Hopefully taking these new items and changing my diet a little will keep me sane and increase my results. I want to be down to 9% bodyfat within the next month, and from the look of abs and definition I am getting in other areas I would guess I am at 12% right now. So I really need to hit it hard. Thanks for the help/support/suggestions guys

ha..you say that this is your last binge....lets see how well that goes when you constantly are bombarded with images of food out there....in all honesty a scheduled cheat day is beneficial to keep you sane. unless you are entering a contest in the near future the only way you will be able to keep dieting is if you cheat regularly (more controlled maybe, but still regularly) unless you have amazing will power.

OH believe me.... I still plan on taking a cheat day once every 7 days :)

weight training and results from it are centered around your DIET. Bottom line is you NEED to quit binging. If you can't have that self discipline then you have no business weighttraining as you will eventually start hitting a wall a great deal sooner than with a good diet and you won't be able to break through that wall...

Yup I know this... I think I just went through a phase in my dieting where I got over stressed with it... I worry too much about eating at the proper times and eating the proper ammounts. I was driving myself nuts with it, plus I waited too long my first binge without having a cheat meal. I need to schedule one to two meals every 7 days to keep myself sane or it will keep happening. Anyways, I got my ECA stuff today in the mail, so hopefully it will help supress hunger a little.

mike, you seem like you already know what your problem is. step 2 is fixing it. if it is hard for you to eat clean 6 days a week and your very serious about wanting to get in shape and will stick with it once you can get down to one cheat day a week, then start with getting adequate protein and throwing in the things you like to binge on in moderation and little by little alienate them out so that your down to eating completely clean for six days a week and eating what you want on the 7th. Hope that helps bro.

i definitely agree with daman here....when i first started dieting i mostly just ate clean foods, but didnt count calories, just protein and carbs to some degree....i still allowed my self a single cheat food every day. just by doing that i cut calories naturally and ended up losing 20 lbs..how much of pure fat im unsure but still it was a start...then from there i just did more and more research...soon the treats dissapeared and i had the weekend cheats...fri, sat, sun...then friday was axed, then sunday, now my goal is to only have a single solitary cheat meal on saturdays instead of two or three....this might take a bit of time for me, but i am still seeing a lot of good things happening...i think when i actually sign up for a competition that will be the tip of the iceburg to eat 100% clean for the 6 months of training.

we're pretty much in the same boat. im just about 19, trying to get down 8% BF.. i went 4 weeks, super clean eating, no cheating, strict cardio, strict training etc..

dropped 10 lbs of FAT and added some lean mass..

but recently it's been hell trying to go one day without eating ****.

i dont think you need to rely on supplements, use your mind as the greatest supplement to your program..

this may sound gay, retarded.. whatever, i dont care but i am going to give it a try and i can definatly see this working.

im going to get myself a small note book and right down my goal for the month. than every day, when i wake up, i am going to write down my goal for the day.. and before i goto bed, i am going to write down my goals.. every single day.. when i get the chance i am also going to write down if i got cravings, if so.. what food, and what did i do to stop them or control them

i know all to well about that binging and getting bloated to hell like adding 2-3 inches on the gut

Thats an awesome idea! :) I used to keep them myself. I just made the problem of making my short-term goals too attainable.

I have been using www.fitday.com to watch what I eat. It helps a lot. You can log in everything you eat

I have a excel doc with all my food planned out...Dont change much from it for the most part. Vary the lean protein for dinner, but I have values for a lot of the food saved and i just play with the figures to get in my goal for that macronutrient...PM me if anyone wants the excel doc...Totals up the values, tells you your % cals from each macro, etc...Andre gave it to me...

one thing that keeps me from mid week binges is just talking about cravings for $hit with my girl...she lives with me and diets pretty hard core so we talk about stuff we want for our cheat day and that helps me get thru the week...knowing that i will get to treat myself soon enough.

I just think about things...Its like the book "The Giver" you read as a little kid...The thought is enough to satisfy me...I think about the greasy cheese fries of outback, Giant Chocolate Cake slices, Cereal and Milk, ANYTHING...LOL Then I go have some chicken and broccoli.... :dg:

this is just one more reason why she's perfect....it's so nice to actually go out to eat and not have her look at me funny when i whip out a teaspoon to measure the olive oil i put on my salad...and actually that was her idea....right now we are both on line to get a job as personal trainers....one day our goal is to either open a healthfood only restaurant.....or a home gym.
