olive oil is ok because monounsaturated fats are still healthy for you. however the ratio of omega 3 6 and 9 fats in flax oil is unmatched by any oils. it has 8g omega 3 per serving. also keep in mind that all omega3 doesnt convert to EPA and DHA, which are the essential fats found in fish oils, hence the larger amount in flax. though olive oil isnt a bad source of fat it does not have the ratio that flax has. flax is the better choice over all.

Thanks Bro! it is a given that flax seed oil is the overall oil of choice, i just wanted to replace it with olive oil since it tasted much better with my tuna fish and eggwhites

continuous use of flax seed oil can result in an imbalance of efa in the body...

check out hemp oil... the taste is better too.

P.s welcome and best of luck.

not if you take an adequate amount. anything you overdue will come back and hurt you. your body needs EFA's for growth of muscle tissue and fat reduction.

    Ummmm-not really.

You see. Actually-fish oil is the better choice over flax.

Ingesting too much omega-6 with too little omega-3 creates a tendency towards inflammation, high blood pressure and other imbalances.

Americans tend to consume too much omega-6 and get very little omega-3. Taking flax seed oil won't counterbalance this. Most people should deliberately ingest extra omega-3 to balance the vegetable oils in their diet.

Ultimately, you should take both. One could ingest both oils, however, I think the hemp oil is the more viable option. +including taste+...

In closing, in the most sound nutritional option, simply taking the forementioned "HEMP" is the best for balancing our daily recommened nutritional guidelines and optimum health objectives.

ummm- yes really. survey all the people on here and im **** certain that they have been taking flax for years and have had NO problems. these are b/s statements that COULD happen just like mercury in tuna, but the odds are around 1 in 1,000,000,000. Your just like that other guy who puts out all these dumb ass statements that 99.9999% will not happen. ive been training for years now and had no problems. hmmm, i must be in the minority.

Spywizard, that was not directed at you, but at the post that was deleted. Just clarifying that, so no hard feelings.

Another good source of omega 3's is walnuts. I love to chop them up and throw them in a salad, pasta, anything I can think of.
