Need to get Cut Fast Diet and Cardio question
Hi there,
I have been into bodybuilding for a good number of years(15). Age is 33.
I’m now about 230 pounds in weight but the lean muscle tissue to fat ratio is very dire. (crap)
I think I could do with losing at least 21 to 28 pounds.
Here goes my story:
I work in this isolated business park approx 9 mile (38mins) journey. I am considering riding a bike to work as part of my very extreme cardio mission to drop the pounds. Of course I need to ride back home after work. This = 18 miles per day perhaps 4 days a week. (And lots of hills are involved too.)
I am currently on a low Carb diet and train heavy. Here’s my diet at the moment
8am Breakfast 6 egg whites and Oatmeal.
12-noon Protein shake
2pm Breast of Chicken
5:30pm Finish work
6pm More Chicken Breasts and Drumsticks
9:30pm Gym for an intense workout (45mins)
11pm 5 More Egg whites.
I am worried that when I start to ride my bike that with this new Cardio regime I wont be able to sustain the journey due to a lack of energy. However I still want to drop the pounds. How would you change my diet to accommodate this new training?
If I keep my protein high – I shouldn’t lose much muscle will I?
Should I simply drink a carbo supplement before the journey and stick to the original diet? Will that slow progress?
Thanks in advance for any help you might be willing to give me.
Regards Cool.Last edited by cooldood; 02-24-2004 at 08:03 AM.

How longhave you been doing the diet and what cardio have you been doing since yoou started. If none then just do 45 minutes on the treadmill five or six days a week. Remember this is not a fast fix...doing it fast will lose all the muscle you've gained, i suggest contacting swolecat on this board he is amazing at this kinda stuff.

Hi, thanks for your quick response Someday. I have been doing 30 mins of cardio about 4 times per week. (Treadmill, stationary bike & stepper) I have followed this diet for about two months. So far the results have been slow. DO you really think all the muscle gains will go fast if I eat sufficient Proteins.

When you start anything out new you cant expect to do an hour on a cardio machine. Just eat a good ratio of 50p/30c/20f and work your way up to a good pace. Your body will respond accordingly.

How slow are your losses? If you lose 1 lb a week, thats 21 lbs in a little over 5 months, very respectable numbers.
