Not sure if I understand ya correctly, but the standard measurement is indeed 14 grams of fat per 1 tablespoon, in dealing with oils.

Sounds like you're using a teaspoon.

In America, we use two different sizes of spoons - a teaspoon and a tablespoon (or soup spoon)

Yeah sounds like you are using a teaspoon, not a tablespoon. A measuring teaspoon is 4g and tablespoon is 14g. (Silverware will vary slightly from measuring spoons due to pattens etc by a fraction of a gram).

A tablespoon is a unit of measure in the US. If you want precision then you will have to buy a set of measuring spoons with a "tablespoon."

btw one swedish tablespoon(that you use for eating) filled with oil is roughly 5g. So either americans have some big ass spoons or the tabelspoon messurement is not based on modern tabelspoons?

A tablespoon is what is used on the table for serving main dishes like veggies, potatos, etc. You leave the spoon in the pan and everyone uses it to get their portions out.

A teaspoon is what is used to stir tea and for eating with.

We have a tabelspoon that we eat dishes with that is bigger then the teaspoon(maby twice the size). The teaspoon here is only used to stir cups or maby eat ice cream, cant belive anyone would use that small ass teaspoon spoon to eat something like soup for instance .

But if your teaspoon holds around 4-5g of oil then its rougly the same size as our tablespoon. So our teaspoon must have some other name then teaspoon in the states.

We have the tablespoon and the teaspoon. We have a spoon larger than the tablespoon called a serving spoon, but nothing smaller than the teaspoon (other than a baby spoon).

We also have something larger than the serving spoon, called a shovel.

I will agree with you on this issue Mguy. The metric system does seem to be more practical but some people cant adapt to change which is the reason we have yet to adopt it.
