According to most businesses that sell wheatgrass products, this green liquid extracted from sprouted grain is high in vitamins A, B, C, and E, as well as many amino acids, such as lysine, tryptophane, and phenylalanine. And wheatgrass is 70% chlorophyll (the stuff that makes plants green).
Wheatgrass distributors and health-food advocates claim that it is practically a fountain of youth and has numerous health benefits, such as:

neutralizing toxins and carcinogens in the body
    improving blood sugar disorders
    helping prevent tooth decay
    increasing hemoglobin production
    keeping hair from graying
    improving digestion
    reducing high blood pressure
aiding in the prevention and curing of cancer
These sources also propose that one ounce of wheatgrass juice is equivalent in vitamins, minerals, and amino acids to two and a half pounds of green vegetables.

I usually get a shot of wheat grass in my smoothie...it tastes like sh*t otherwise.

The one thing I have noticed...is the crazy amount of gas I get from wheat grass!

Okay guys, I have to tell you wheatgrass is one of the best things you can supplement your body with. I grow and juice my own at home. And yes it tastes like fresh mowed lawn smells. I chase it with fresh juiced apple juice and it makes the aftertaste more pallatable. The above person is right 1oz has the nutrients of 7 pounds green vegies. And all the benefits stated above are true as well. From personal experience my skin is clearer, brain is clearer, more energy, better intestinal health. If you start with 1 oz a day then gradually go up you wont have the shi$%. I personally dont have more than 2 oz a day. The beauty of the wheatgrass ( freshly juiced) is its structure is identical to hemoglobin, except the chlorophyll of grass is bound by Mg, whereas hemoglobin is Fe. The thing is your body completely uses this grass and it quickly absorbed via your intestines. Your body treats it as hemoglobin once in your bloodstream, therefore rejuvinating RBC's and oxygen capacity. There is so much more about this, but I will leave it at this. Hope this helps.

Yeah, no doubt I know it has great benefits as most know also, but the fact that it's like a shot of diarrhea is what kills it for me.

Okay maybe that's not the best visual...............

    It is good for you!

A better question is where do they dump all of it! LOL.......

Really, I've no idea as I see these things at Jamba Juice and other smoothie/drink establishments. Never seen them in stores, but I'd guess they'd be with either the health food items, or near the rat poison.

At health food stores and juice bars you can order a "shot" of wheatgrass juice. This is what I recommend to do. As the juice is very volatile after its juiced and loses the beneficial properties after 12 hours. The other way, is to buy the trays of wheat grass at the health food store and juice it at home. You can also grow your own trays at home. The thing of juicing it at home is you need a juicer that is for wheat grass. It rotates at a slower speed, so as not to destroy the live chlorophyll.
What I do when I get it on the run.......I go to WildOats' juice bar and order a double shot of wheatgrass juice with an apple juice chaser.

The gas shouldnt be a problem if your gradually work yourself up in the amount you drink. If you start with 1oz a day it shouldnt be much of a problem. Its most beneficial if drank on an empty stomach, this usually reduces stomach problems including gas. Dont eat within one hour of drinking the wheatgrass. Hope this helps.
Am I having a blonde moment? What does the "he's on his game in this thread mean"?
