    Please critique cutting diet

Hi, I'm pretty new to weight training--been at it seriously for a little shy of a year. My stats are 5'9", 153, about 12% bf. I know that sounds pretty light, but I've still got a layer of fat around my midsection that I'd like to lose before I attempt my first serious bulk phase. I do 40-45 min of AM cardio and a three day split w/weights. Please let me know what I can do improve this diet.

9am 5 egg whites/1 whole egg (Is it OK to eat right after cardio?)
    1/4 cup(dry) steel cut oats
    w/1/2 tbsp natty pb

    11am chicken breast
    1 cup broccoli
    1 tbsp olive oil

    1pm (pwo) Myoplex MRP
(I've noticed some members suggest dextrose here, as well)

    4pm chicken breast
    sweet potato
1 cup broccoli (w/I can't believe it's not butter spray)

    6pm chicken breast
    2 cups salad
    1 tbsp olive oil

    9pm 1 can tuna
    1 tbsp mayo

    Totals: 1778 kcal/207 protein/120 carb (not including dextrose)/75 fat

that's a pretty good diet. It's good to do >1.5x your weight in grams of protein. You could probably even eat more per day. That's a really low caloric intake. I eat 6000-8000 calories a day, 330g-380g of protein. Just do a lot of cardio to get rid of fat.

Thanks for the responses, guys. I'm not sure how low to take the calories, since I don't want to go into starvation mode. I just took my weight (153) x 12 (1836) and lowered it a little. You still think 1750-1800 is too low? SwoleCat, can I take your lack of criticism of my diet to mean it's all right? You seem to be the man to talk about this stuff here.

for your weight 1800 cals is fine.. the thing about starvation is that most of the time that people feel hungry they are really dehydrated. so if you drink 1-2 gallons of watter a day you should have no problem..

IN REALITY, U CAN GO W/EGG WHITES AND OATS, OR YOU CAN NIX THE OATS AND GO W/A FAT/PROTEIN MEAL. LOSE THE PB IN EITHER CASE, UNLESS YOU USE THAT AS YOUR FAT SOURCE FOR THE MEAL.

    11am chicken breast
    1 cup broccoli
    1 tbsp olive oil

    FINE.

    1pm (pwo) Myoplex MRP
(I've noticed some members suggest dextrose here, as well)

DEXTROSE AND/OR MALTODEXTRIN MIX, WITH WHEY ISOLATE, WATER, R-ALA, BIOTIN, AND/OR VANADYL SULFATE.

    4pm chicken breast
    sweet potato
1 cup broccoli (w/I can't believe it's not butter spray)
    FINE...

    6pm chicken breast
    2 cups salad
    1 tbsp olive oil
MAKE SURE YOU HAVE NO CORN/CARROTS/PEAS/CROUTONS IN THAT SALAD.

    9pm 1 can tuna
    1 tbsp mayo

FINE, LOOKS GOOD FOR THE PATTERNIZATION. AMOUNTS YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE TO ADJUST WHERE NEEDED TO ACQUIRE THE RESULTS YOU ARE LOOKING FOR. IT'S GREAT THOUGH BECAUSE ONCE YOU LEARN YOUR BODY, YOU KNOW IT FOREVER.

If I'm not mistaken, that adds up to 1983 cals.

You could also try subbing a tbsp of flax for a tbsp of olive oil.
