A brisk walk.
It's fairly easy to find your own HR. Feel for your pulse, either on your wrist or neck. Count beats for 15 seconds. Multiply by 4 to get bpm...
Yup, brisk walk is great, running is usually too intense and can lead to making an aerobic activity anaerobic.

swole, have you at anytime had to increase your intesity level from brisk walk to slow jog to keep inside the required % HR? - it's just as you become fitter from cardio sessions you must have to push yourself slightly harder to keep inside required %HR. Just like for example an overweigh person would require less effort to reach target HR. Just a thought.Quote:

when is the next best time for cardio if its too rush in the morning before breakfast and its nearly impossible to put in cardio then..?
I'd just avoid being rushed and get up a bit earlier. If it means going to bed 45 mins earlier, I'll do it as I know how much more productive it is for me.

I get what you mean swole.. it sucks having to already wake up at 5.30 for school normally. I know the importance of doing cardio before breakfast, but is there any other alternative? Fasting sometime during the day before cardio?
if you wanna lose about 35-40 lbs is it still effective to keep your heart rate at that level or should you step it up more to burn more?
Is cardio after workout such a bad idea?

Precisely........working out is an anabolic period, no sense in performing a cardio activity and interfering w/this time.
