Swole, Daman, anyone who knows nutrition to the "T"

I am looking for a good book that will tell me all about bulking, cutting, and all other aspects about nutrition such as what happens in your body when you eat certain foods. Basically I want to get dieting down to an art so I can get my body to look like art. I mean I pretty much know what to eat and when to eat but I don't necessarily know the reactions in my body when I do eat something. I saw a book at the bookstore called Power Eating, it looked ok but what are some of ya'lls suggestions.

The Encyclopedia of Bodybuilding is okay, but it's pretty dated and limited as far as nutrition. You can actually learn more "up to date" stuff on-line by utilizing searches. Just make sure the information you obtain can be deemed credible.

Are you referring to the Arnold encyclopedia? If so I have that and it only covers the basics not to much in depth. Yeah I have learned a lot reading posts in this forum from you and others. Actually this is where i have learned the most. Thanks for the reply Swole.

You could try to find some used nutrition textbooks or something.. it's pretty hard to find other sources of unbiased science-based information on nutrition. Most diet books are selling an idea or trying to persuade you to believe in their way of doing things.

I would also say some of the new videos that are out by the top bodybuilder such as ronnie and jay, just look for the book versions.

The kind of knowledge you are talking about, if I understand your description correctly, is not really something you can learn from a single book. Understanding nutrition at a cellular level requires a somewhat in-depth understanding of biology. You could take a couple of semesters worth of college level biology and you would have an excellent idea of how to apply these principles to something specific. If you can, take Human Anatomy and Physiology preferably because the focus is on human rather than all of the five types. Who gives a crap how fungii and plants function at a cellular level? You could pick up the textbook for a 1st year course if attending classes is something you arent wanting to do with your spare time, but man there aer lotsa honeys in biology at colleges.

i woudlnt worry to much about the nutriton texts, anyone who has majored in that, knows that the texts are just now being updated, most of the studies for nutrition were done on distance athletes, such as track and marathon runners, nothing really viable to bodybuilding or weight training, in those you wil get the carb builds muscle instead of protein, i graduated from school 2 years ago and it was barely changing to the pro-protein theories.. just read around on the net.... there are a ton of great info available here. like swole said, make sure its from a credible source
